Day 1 of Heptathlon Preview:

To send a full team to London, the competitors in the heptathlon need to finish in the top 3 and also achieve an Olympic standard. Coming into Eugene, Sharon Day is the only athlete with the Olympic A standard. She'll battle it out with 2009 world championship team member, Bettie Wade, and 2008 Olympic silver medalist Hyleas Fountain. The Georgia alum has not completed a full heptathlon competition since 2010. Though she’s struggled with injury, Fountain looks to regain the form that put her on the podium in Beijing.
